Some temporary power projects have the luxury of time for advance planning and preparation – but for many others, time is truly of the essence, and missed deadlines can have dramatic consequences. The latter was certainly the case in a recent Trinity Power project for an environmental solutions provider, as that company rushed to support cleanup efforts following the April 2015 oil spill in Vancouver’s English Bay.
As a leading partner to the North American energy industry, providing a broad range of clean-up and other environmental services to its oil and gas, mining and industrial clients, that company was tapped to aid in the English Bay efforts. And the project’s managers quickly turned to Trinity Power to meet their temporary power needs.
The call came in to Trinity late on a Sunday night – and fortunately, with Trinity Power’s 24/7 dedication, the company’s planners were able to speak directly with one of our temporary power specialists, not a voicemail system. The company needed to supply electricity to equipment on the barge that would be its operating base in English Bay – and that equipment needed to be at the barge’s dock by 10 a.m. Monday morning.
Trinity’s team quickly provided a comprehensive quote, assembled the necessary generator, electric panel and connecting cable, and managed the logistics of getting the equipment to the dock by that ambitious 10 a.m. deadline.
With Trinity taking care of power needs, our client’s staff could turn their attention to matters more directly related to minimizing the spill’s impact on the sensitive environment of English Bay.
