Put our industry experience to work for you
Our commercial transfer switch rentals are designed to safely transfer an electrical load from one power source to another, ensuring the load is connected to only one power source at a time. Keeping power sources separated is crucial for safe and compliant operations and to support reliability for critical loads. This equipment is essential for any backup power scenario, creating a seamless transition from the power grid to backup sources such as generators.
Our ample inventory includes a full line of manual and automatic units to suit different project needs. We can also source specialized equipment for complex projects and specific requirements from our wide broker network. You can rely on our knowledgeable temporary power specialists for technical support and guidance in configuring the right solution for your project.
Some of the key features of our rental equipment include:
Manual transfers are physical devices you have to operate yourself to switch power sources. Most equipment features a lever or a knob that first disconnects the facility from one source and later connects it to the alternative.
The best applications for this type of switch rental are projects with on-site personnel readily available to operate the switch when needed and where downtime is non-critical, since operating this equipment creates a brief power interruption that may last anywhere from a few minutes to an hour.
Automatic transfer switches transfer electrical loads without manual intervention. These switches continuously monitor incoming power. When they sense an outage, they take a few seconds before sending a signal to your secondary power source to start. Once the alternative power source is running smoothly and producing stable power, the ATS disconnects your facility from one source and connects it to the other.
This equipment is essential for critical operations, facilities that operate around the clock and sensitive industrial processes. It is a reliable solution for operations that can’t afford downtime or constant monitoring.
Trinity Power has over 25 years of serving commercial and industrial clients across Canada with turnkey solutions. We offer fast availability, reliable equipment and comprehensive support to ensure your operations run smoothly.

Manual and Automatic Options
At Trinity Power, we offer a variety of transfer switch equipment for industrial and commercial applications.
Whether you choose a manual or automatic option, our electrical transfer switches include these specifications:
Each of our rentals is constructed with quality materials designed to last. Before sending our transfer switches, generators and other accessories to your site, we rigorously test them to ensure they’re ready to handle your operations.
Transfer switches are responsible for telling your generator to start and stop. They are a vital part of preparing your facility for an electrical blackout or other interruptions in service and saving money.
At Trinity Power, we keep a wide array of transfer switches available in all our locations. When you come to us with an immediate need for our rental equipment, we’ll supply them quickly and efficiently for minimal interruption to your workflow.
Transformer switches come in two types — manual and automatic. At Trinity Power, all our model options come in both configurations — learn the differences and benefits to make the best decision for your facility’s needs.
A manual switch requires human interaction to turn on and off. In the event of a power outage, you’ll need to adjust the switch manually to start the generator’s flow of electricity. Many operations that utilize manual switches prefer the greater level of control over power that a manual switch offers.
Automatic transfer switches offer a streamlined approach to generator power. As soon as the switch detects an electrical drop, it triggers the generator. Many operations that choose an automatic transfer switch need constant access to a consistent flow of electricity. They may have a generator in a hard-to-reach place or lack human workers on standby to flip on a manual switch. Automatic switches are also considered safer since no human interaction is required to work them following installation.

Trinity Power offers automatic and manual transfer switches.
Automatic transfer switches (ATS) ensure a seamless transition between power sources. When a power outage occurs, an ATS senses the lack of electricity from the primary power source and is able to switch the power from the primary source to the backup generator.
A manual transfer switch (MTS) allows the user to manually swap from a dedicated power source over to generator power in the event of an emergency or outage.
Our transfer switches range from 400A to 3000A.
