When the power goes out at a large grocery store, the consequences can be swift and costly. Food needs to be kept cold, and customers can’t be left in the dark; restoring power as quickly as possible is imperative.
Just such an emergency happened at the Langley location of a major grocery store chain recently when a leak in the store’s electrical room resulted in a failure of the primary transformer feeding the building. Needing to restore power — and fast — the store contacted a Surrey-based electrical services provider, who in turn got in touch with Trinity Power to help them get things up and running again as quickly as possible.
This client, a commercial and industrial electrical contracting company, has been providing electrical services in Surrey, Langley and Richmond, B.C. since 1984. They pride themselves on their experience, their electrical expertise, and their commitment to being available day or night when electrical emergencies come calling.
The electrical contractor needed Trinity Power to provide a temporary power solution that would enable the store to serve their customers and protect their products, while their electricians tested the transformer and repaired the damaged equipment.
Trinity received the call at 12:30pm. By 2pm, all the necessary equipment had been shipped, including a 2000kW 600/347V diesel generator, 100 feet of 4/0 cable at 2000 Amps, and termination tails. Trinity supplied the equipment and coordinated the delivery and pick-up of the generator, as well as its on-site refueling.
By 7pm the same day, the building was back up and running, thanks to the temporary power solution provided by Trinity.
With power restored, the store was able to continue its operations and our client was able to quickly get to work to determine what had caused the leak, test the transformer, and formulate a permanent solution to the problem.
From emergency backup systems to festival stages, temporary power is often synonymous with generators, but not all of the time.
Trinity delivers one 1000kW diesel gen and three 300kW natural gas gens to a remote oil battery facility in Alberta.
