A Quick Delivery Supports a Switchgear Upgrade for a Telecommunications Giant

In the temporary power game, the clock is always ticking. There are many reasons why an Electrical Contractor might need gear quickly – from vendor challenges to emergency outages to successful bids being won in the eleventh hour. Our approach allows the Trinity team to identify and source the best equipment for any project on challenging timelines, whether the situation is an emergency or a valued customer with last-minute requirements.

A recent call fell into the latter category; a winning bid on a project for a major Canadian telecommunications company left our client with just two weeks to source all the equipment they needed for phase 1 of a multi-phase project. Here’s how Trinity Power delivered.

The Challenge: A Tight Timeline for an Important Contract

Our client, an Electrical Contractor in the commercial, industrial and residential sectors, was awarded a contract to upgrade the switchgear at a facility owned by a Big 3 telecom company in Ontario. The catch? The first phase of the project was scheduled to begin in two weeks. Needing a quick solution for Phase 1 of the project as well as a separate solution for Phase 2 – both requiring a temporary automatic transfer switch and panel to pick up building loads as the project progressed – they called Trinity Power.

Our Approach: Two Project Phases, Two Complete Solutions

Using a single line drawing provided by our client, the Trinity team pulled inventory from multiple branches across Canada to deliver a quick solution for Phase 1 of the project. The equipment Trinity provided for the first phase, sourced and shipped within two weeks, included:

with 5 breakers (600A, 400A & 50A)

with 5 15A breakers

Worker installing an i-line panel

Once this order was shipped, the Trinity team shifted focus to building a solution for Phase 2.

We provided:

with 4 breakers (800A, 600A & 400A)

Due to limited local availability, the 3000A ATS had to be shipped from one of Trinity’s US branches – the team handled all the logistics of the international shipment, including the 3rd party inspection and certification for use in Canada.

The Result: Timely Project Completion

Thanks to Trinity’s quick, efficient and knowledgeable approach, our client was able to meet their tight temporary power delivery timelines, complete their project successfully, and deliver great results for a VIP customer.
