The importance of well-maintained health care facilities has perhaps never been more apparent. The last thing doctors and patients should have to worry about is a hospital’s electrical system, which is why having reliable backup power is so essential.
When a health care facility is undergoing electrical maintenance, that backup power system is even more important. This is where Trinity Power usually comes in. Our years of experience in partnering with Electrical Contractors entrusted with keeping hospitals’ electricity running make us a top choice for projects like this one.
In operation for over 20 years, this Ontario-based client employs over 500 certified tradespeople to deliver top quality services across North America.
With a focus on installations, relocations and repairs, their specialties include rigging, electrical, piping and HVAC installation and repairs.
When an Ontario hospital hired our client to complete some electrical room maintenance, our client knew immediately that a key concern would be reliable backup power. In order to ensure continuity of care for the hospital’s patients in the event of an outage, the backup generator would have to fire up within 10 seconds of receiving a signal from the automatic transfer switch. And there would have to be no question as to whether or not it would work when needed.
In order to source the right generator for the job, we worked with one of our vendors to deliver a 1250kW 600V generator. We also ensured that a third party generator technologist was on standby during installation to offer phone support when needed.
From our own yard, we provided 400 feet of cable and 100 feet of cable mats to protect the sections of cable that ran over an exposed parking lot.
Thanks to the Trinity team’s solution, our client was able to seamlessly connect the temporary backup solution with the hospital’s main power system, ensuring that health care workers would be able to provide patients with the same high quality of care in the event of an outage.
Not only did Trinity’s competitive pricing contribute to our client winning their bid for this job, but our expertise, client-centred service and high-quality equipment contributed to the likely success of our client’s future bids.
