Trinity Powers a Distribution Plant’s New Conveyor System

As intermediaries between production sites and retail locations, distribution centres play a vital role in the supply chain. And when it comes to supply chains, few products are as critical as food. So while the Trinity team brings their A-game to every single project, we knew that a successful outcome on a recent project at a large grocery distribution centre was especially important.

The Client: A Solution-Oriented Electrical Contractor

For the past 40 years, this family business has grown from a local, Vancouver-area electrical contracting company into a 100+ employee entity servicing customers across Western Canada. They offer services such as thermal imaging diagnostics, commercial installation, system design and more, with the goal of “transforming complex electrical challenges into powerful solutions”.

The Challenge: A Distribution Centre With a Commissioning Requirement

When a large distribution centre in BC’s lower mainland needed to test and commission their new 480V automated conveyor system, they knew who to call: our client.

With an area of nearly 500,000 square feet, the distribution centre is critical in ensuring that many of the region’s grocery products make it to the right store shelves. In other words, a lot of people depend on the facility to operate smoothly and efficiently. With so much riding on the success of a project, it pays dividends to work with the best contractors available. That’s why the facility hired our client and why they, in turn, partnered with Trinity Power.

Having worked with us before, our client knew what to expect – high quality equipment, experienced temporary power experts, and a solution tailored to their customer’s requirements.

Our Approach: High-Touch, High-Care

Working with our vendor partners, the Trinity team sourced a 1000kW generator, along with a 700kW 480V automatic load bank rental to ensure the generator was sufficiently loaded. Trinity also provided:

Transformer, load back and splitter.

To make on-site connection more efficient, Trinity’s technicians pre-installed camlok tails and housed the CT inside the splitter before delivering the equipment to the site.

In addition to prepping and delivering the equipment, the Trinity team also created a single line drawing for the customer to review, to ensure that the system would meet their needs, and to keep their on-site installation team informed about the equipment layout.

Trinity also handled fueling to ensure the generator received the optimal amount of fuel.

The Result: A Streamlined Commissioning

Thanks to the successful partnership between Trinity and our client, the distribution centre’s new conveyor system was successfully commissioned, allowing the facility’s important work to continue.
