Our client was conducting an electrical upgrade at a minimum security institution on Vancouver Island. With phase two nearing completion, they were replacing several high-voltage transformers and primary and secondary conductors, as well as electrical distribution throughout the facility — an undertaking that required multiple shutdowns.
Because each shutdown had to be coordinated with BC Hydro, the project’s schedule was subject to frequent changes. And because the institution was located on an island, the availability of nearby generators and distribution equipment was limited.
